Linear chain (fast adaptation)
The model describes a chain of enzymatic reactions with mass-action kinetics. All forward and reverse rate constants are set to 1. The benefit function scores the average flux (i.e., the rate of product production). Predefined oscillations in the initial substrate X1 promote a wave of enzyme activity along the chain.
